Thursday April 17, we welcome local crime writers Mari Hannah and Jessica Irene Smith to discuss their latest books, where the inspiration for their fiction comes from, and what they’ve been reading lately. This is followed by a Q&A and books will be available to purchase

Mari Hannah is a multi-award winning, bestselling author and screenwriter. A former probation officer, Mari is the creator of the Stone & Oliver crime series, the Ryan & O'Neil series and the DCI Kate Daniels series. Her latest book, Her Sister’s Killer is published by Orion Books in March 2025.

Jessica Irena Smith is a celebrated crime writer and glass artist from Durham. Her latest novel, The Night of the Crash, was published in November 2024.
