Micro:bit

The micro:bit is an educational and creative tool developed by the BBC. It looks like a small circuit board equipped with sensors and LEDs which can be connected to a computer and programmed via the dedicated coding environments on the www.microbit.co.uk website.

Each micro:bit available to borrow from Newcastle Libraries comes in a plastic box which also contains: 1 quick start guide, 1 micro USB cable, 1 external battery holder. Some boxes also contain the 2 AAA batteries needed to power up the micro:bit when it is not connected to a computer.
