Game for 3 to 4 players. Duration: approximately 60 minutes.

19 terrain tiles, 6 sea frame pieces, 9 harbour pieces, 18 circular number tokens, 95 resource cards (grain, lumber, ore, brick and wool), 25 development cards (14 knight, 6 progress, 5 victory points), 4 building costs cards, 2 special cards (longest road and largest army), 16 cities (4 of each colour, shaped like churches), 20 settlements (5 of each colour, shaped like houses), 60 roads (15 of each colour, shaped like bars), 2 dice, 1 robber (grey pawn), 1 game rules and almanac booklet.

Picture yourself in an era of discovery: after a long voyage of great deprivation, your ships have finally reached the coast of an uncharted island. Its name shall be Catan! But you are not the only discoverer. Other fearless seafarers have also landed on the shores of Catan: the race to settle the island has begun!
