Andrea Berloff writes and directs this American crime drama starring Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss. Set in Hell's Kitchen, New York in 1978, the film follows Kathy Brennan (McCarthy), Ruby O'Carroll (Haddish) and Claire Walsh (Moss) as they take over the criminal activities of their imprisoned mobster husbands. The mob promises to take care of them but the three women struggle to get by and support their families while their husbands are incarcerated. Sensing an opportunity to capitalise on the mob's failure to protect their neighbourhood, the three women step in to take over the local protection racket, with violent repercussions.
